We’re building a new generation of endoscopes connected to a standardized tablet platform, designed to make minimally invasive procedures safer, faster, and more precise. Our technology helps surgeons access challenging anatomy and perform treatments with greater stability and control.

As an EPFL spin-off, we are a fast-growing medical device startup developing breakthrough endoscopy solutions and preparing our first products for regulatory approval. This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy working in a high-potential startup environment, where you can have a direct impact on the product and grow with the company.

About the Role

This Manufacturing Engineer role focuses on transitioning our current prototype devices into manufacturable, scalable medical products. You will work closely with the engineering team and contract manufacturing partners to bring R&D designs into production, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will report directly to the CTO and work closely with both internal engineering teams and external manufacturing partners, playing a central role in scaling our technology from prototype to production.

You will play a key role in the industrialization of Dexterous Endoscopes systems, working closely with manufacturers and suppliers to establish robust production processes.

This role is suited for engineers who are comfortable taking on challenging technical problems and real responsibility. Working in an early-stage medical technology startup requires initiative, resilience, and a willingness to build systems and processes from the ground up. If you’re motivated by the opportunity to help bring breakthrough endoscopy technology into production and contribute to building a company, this role offers that chance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design for manufacturing (DFM) activities to convert prototype designs into manufacturable products

  • Work closely with contract manufacturers to establish production processes

  • Optimize device design, components, and assemblies for scalable manufacturing

  • Develop and document manufacturing processes and assembly workflows

  • Lead design transfer activities from R&D to manufacturing

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or product industrialization, preferably within medical devices

  • Fluent in English (C1)

  • Strong experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design transfer to production

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes for precision medical devices (e.g., injection molding, precision machining, micro-assembly, device assembly)

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and external suppliers

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and regulated medical device production environments

  • Understanding of medical device manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements

  • Experience from endoscopy or similar MedTech companies is strongly preferred
