Rooted in EPFL Research
Dexterous Endoscopes is an EPFL spin-off project born from over eight years of cutting-edge research in stiffness modulation of medical devices. This expertise is demonstrated by numerous high-impact journal publications and patents developed in close collaboration with clinicians.
Inspired by Switzerland’s excellence in medical devices, robotics, and medicine, we are creating advanced variable stiffness endoscopes that can navigate and operate in the most difficult-to-reach areas.
Our first product targets indications in the sinuses and larynx, where current tools face limitations in access and control.

Dr. Yegor Piskarev
Co-founder & CEO
Years in operating rooms, seeing the problem first-hand
For over 7 years, Yegor has developed variable stiffness medical devices for research and industry while observing procedures in ORs, from sinus to kidney surgery. He pairs that first-hand clinical view of surgeons' pain points with the engineering skills to turn them into devices that work.
Dr. Yi Sun
Co-founder & CTO
Turned down a professorship in Tokyo to build Dexterous Endoscopes
Yi has spent 14 years building medical robots and minimally invasive devices in Switzerland, Singapore, Australia and Japan, and is first author of two papers in Science journals. He co-invented our variable stiffness technology and turns it into devices surgeons can use.
Dr. Mohammad Albatat

Has seen the inside of 30 medtech companies
Mohammad has 10+ years in medical devices. He has co-founded and advised multiple medtech startups on their way to clinic and market, and led operations at a medtech consultancy that supported 30+ companies along their journey. He pulls R&D, operations, clinical and regulatory work into one plan, and now leads operations at Dexterous Endoscopes.

Rémi has spent 20+ years in medtech, including as CEO of a radiotherapy software company and as business development director of an established Swiss medical device firm. He also trains Swiss deep-tech founders for Innosuisse, and now builds our quality system and leads our path to clearance.
